SAP CTS+
With SAP dual and single stack Java technologies included in SAP applications, a method to more easily deploy SAP Java packages and a method to better ensure synchronous deployment of Java packages and any related ABAP transport requests, has become a user requirement.
Since the introduction of SAP NetWeaver2004s (NetWeaver7.0) SPS12 there now exists the ability to incorporate the non-ABAP files of Java and Web elements into ABAP transport requests. This extended CTS feature has been termed CTS+ or One Transport Order (OTO).
Rev-Trac and SAP CTS+
Rev-Trac, Revelation Software Concepts’ SAP change control application, fully utilizes CTS+ functionality allowing for deployment of dual stack ABAP and Java package transports or single stack Java package transports.
With Rev-Trac users can:
- Associate both single or dual stack Java package CTS+ transports and ABAP CTS+ transports with a Rev-Trac change request, and automatically deploy these to any combination of destinations following approval
- Specify and enforce sequence dependencies between single or dual stack Java package CTS+ transports, or between these and ABAP CTS+ transports
An Alternative
Running Rev-Trac with its RT-xDeploy add-on, Rev-Trac can manage and deploy non-ABAP Java changes. By using the RT-xDeploy add-on package manager any Java files from any SAP single or dual stack system can be associated with and managed by Rev-Trac change requests without the need to embed them in a CTS+ transport.
This eliminates the need for users to update to NW2004s SPS12 in order to include Java change management into Rev-Trac change control.
